Youth development program

Our Youth Development program enriches the lives of young African immigrants and others from low-income families by making the avenue more assessable to use their talents and skills.

What the Youth Program does

Our Youth Programs are educational enrichment projects that are designed with school partnerships. Our program specific staff includes formally trained and experienced educators, who develop curriculum and facilitate instruction. As role models, all staff participate in on-going professional development in areas related to curriculum, instruction, youth development, and technology education.

The goals are geared toward enhancing lifetime learning and success:

  • Create an atmosphere of security, safety and a sense of control over their own lives
  • Enhance positive membership in and belonging to progressive groups
  • Raise achievement levels in technology, employability, & life skills
  • Expand self-knowledge and a positive self-identity
  • Develop critical thinking, initiative, and civic responsibility
